Cross necklace, worn by men or women. Beaded by the Faraja Widows of Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya. Beads are now all dark brown.
Cross necklace is made from reclaimed domestic animal bone (cow, sheep or goat). Another great example of SEED’s partner groups reclaiming something that would be discarded and turning it into something good and artful. Kind of like what God does with us.
(Note: crosses and the six beads next to them are now solid brown.)
