Bookmarks, created by refugees, expressing their faith. The ن symbol, possibly the fish symbol and definitely the cross were originally signs of scorn. These refugee Christians have embraced these symbols to gladly share who they follow.
Very few bookmarks in stock.
The ن (N) letter stands for “Nazarites,” the followers of Jesus. ISIS wrote ن on the doors of homes and businesses that Christians had to leave behind as they fled Mosul. The church in Jordan welcomes these refugees and helps them support themselves through this artisan livelihood group.
Mosul corresponds to the ancient city of Ninevah. In the last verse of the book of Jonah, God asks, “And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people…?”
